Holiday Cottages Western Isles

Whitehouse is a traditional farmhouse situated at the Western end of Balephetrish Bay. It is on fields next to a rocky point, with views across the sea to the Outer Hebrides, Skye, Rhum, Eigg and East to the mainland.

The house sleeps 6/9. There are 3 double/twin bedrooms; any of these can be set up with up to 4 beds. Lounge 2 can operate as a dedicated 4th double bedroom; this would still leave a large lounge and dining studio as living space. Upstairs there are 2 large twin/double bedrooms each with plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Beds new in 2005.

The main bedroom has 3 windows with views to SE, NE and NW. Two single divans are pushed together with a super king size mattress pad to make a luxurious double bed. (You can separate the beds to convert to a twin room if you prefer.) The duvets are large singles. There is a large bedspread to cover the duvets.

There is a second Twin bedroom. There is also a bathroom with a luxurious freestanding bath; heated towel rail; views to Balephetrish Bay and Mull.

Downstairs, there is a Kitchen-diner, complete with 4-6 seat table, microwave, dishwasher, plenty of modern utensils and a decent radio. There is a passage to living room with high ceiling, candle chandelier, TV/DVD player, i-pod docking station, French windows to SW facing garden, coal stove, windows to SW, NW, NE and velux in ceiling: door to dining room and passage into kitchen-diner. The numerous windows make this an exceptionally bright room.

The Dining room has a large table with seating for 6 - 10. There is a spectacular glass screen wall with sea views to NW.

The second Living Room is the cosiest room in the house with TV/DVD player, mini hi-fi and coal stove. There is now a double sofabed as well as the regular sofa.

Bedroom 3 is a Twin room. There are great views NW and NE. Adjacent to the two shower rooms. The two single beds cannot easily be pushed together without making access awkward. However there is plenty of room for one or even two mattresses on the floor and storage if you want to use it as a "kids' room".

2 shower-rooms/toilets; each with heated towel rail. Large, bright entrance porch.

Spacious hall; desk and chair; gently shelving staircase leads upstairs. Utility room with spare fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer.
