Guests staying in our cosy holiday cottages can make full use of our leisure facilities
Indoor Swimming Pool Our 11m Indoor Swimming Pool is ideal for both gentle exercise and family fun, and for your safety is supervised by friendly, helpful Pool Attendants at all times.
We aim to keep the pool pleasantly warm – usually about 29/30°C. Shallow end is approx 1m deep, shelving in middle to 2.3m. Plentiful supplies of water toys and floats available.
Sauna Our sauna is situated close to the Swimming Pool although not accessed directly from the poolside.Big enough to fit about four people comfortably, the sauna is available to book for 1 hour sessions, free of charge. Shower facility close by.
Gym/Fitness Room - our small Gym and Fitness room is equipped to a high standard, featuring a Cross Trainer, Exercise Bike and Pec Dec. Dumb-bells, floor mats and CD player also provided for aerobic workouts.
Games Rooms - there are two separate Games Rooms which are situated (1) immediately behind the main office building and (2) in the Walled Garden Central Block.
They both have a table tennis table, a small snooker table and a dart board. Also provided is a football table, playstation (with games to hire) and various board games. Table tennis bats and darts are available to borrow from Reception.
Snooker/Club Room - a wonderfully relaxing room, furnished in country house style. Equipped with an antique full-size snooker table, small well-stocked library, wide screen TV with Satellite channels, plentiful selection of jigsaws and board games. Ideal for socialising with friends or other guests, escaping from the family or just chilling out. Strictly no unsupervised children under 17 years.
Tennis Court - full size, all weather tennis court, ideal for a family tournament or just friendly knockabout.
Tennis racquets and balls available to borrow.
Book the court for one hour sessions on the day of play only, or take a chance on it being free. During busy periods we allow one session per cottage.
Play Room - situated behind the main office building – suitable for supervised children under 12 years. Well stocked with lovely selection of toys including wooden train set, garage, dolls house & cooker. It also has a small wall-mounted TV and video player, comfy seating, accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.
Playground - situated in the centre of the village, this is a well-maintained children’s playground equipped with sturdy wooden climbing frame with slide, two sets of swings (one with toddler seats), rope bridge and swing ball.
There is another set of swings and swing ball situated within the Walled Garden area.
Putting Green - essentially a “rough” 9-hole putting green suitable for family fun. Golf Clubs and balls available to borrow.Fishing - fly fishing is available for a small charge on Loch nan Druimnean. We have a boat on the loch exclusively for the use of guests & basic tackle for hire. The loch is situated near the A816, with easy access and parking. Alternatively the walk from Melfort Village, which is only a mile or so, is very pleasant and a great way to see some of the beautiful scenery around Kilmelford. The loch holds a healthy population of wild brown trout, which average around 'three to the pound', although they fight like fish twice the size!

Restaurant - our bar and restaurant, The Shower of Herring Inn, offers an excellent and varied menu.

Melfort Riding Centre - situated on site with fabulous ponies and expert, friendly tuition. Choose from group & private lessons; Tiny tot pony rides; Stables Management, learning to Lunge or a Trek amongst magnificent scenery. More details on the Melfort Riding Centre

Bike Hire "Mountain style" bikes for adults & children can be hired from Reception for as little as £2 per hour (min 2 hours) / £12 per day. Helmets & Child set hire free of charge. Stabilisers and tow-along bike available.
Squash & Badminton can be played at Kilmelford Village Hall. Bookings can be made in our Reception – some equipment also available to borrow.
Spa Treatments available at Melfort Village Holidays provide the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself. We have several wonderful treats to tempt you with -
Therapeutic Massage - our local masseuse, Gabby Rogers, visits every Tuesday and can offer relaxing Therapeutic, Remedial or Sports massages, using essential oils
Beauty Therapy - Paula Lodge visits Melfort every Wednesday and can offer a wide range of treatments including facials, waxing, eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, manicure & pedicure, Indian head Massage, Spinal Touch Therapy & Reiki
Rejuvanessence - Look Younger - Feel Better - Naturally. Facial rejuvenation treatments to firm and improve your skin tone are carried out by Nora Galvin on Fridays.All treatments may be carried out on an alternative day by arrangement.
