Violet Bank Apartment in Edinburgh is at ground floor level, in a 1930's art deco building, in a quiet street just off the main Morningside Road. To the front is a small patio garden with shrubs and flowers and a bench which enjoys the morning sun. To the rear is a communal grassed area, clothes drying area, flower beds and cherry trees and the afternoon and evening sun is here. It has a pleasant town outlook.

There are two double bedrooms with new pocket-sprung queen size beds The bedroom furnishings are restored antiques, one in 1930s style and the other late Georgian period, and the whole apartment is furnished to a similar standard as our five star B&B in Edinburgh. We offer free Wi-Fi internet connection. The spacious lounge has two new leather sofas, large coffee table, TV and DVD and CD players. We have put in lots of tourist information, magazines, books, DVD films and CDs for you to use - and some board games and a jigsaw, if you wish to have a stay in.

The kitchen has been refurbished and has an induction hob and fan assisted oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge and freezer. We have stocked the kitchen with crockery, cutlery, pans, utensils for four people. If you wanted to cook, there is everything we could think of that you might need. New cook's knives and utensils throughout. We supply all towels, bed linen and give you a welcome tray to get you started. The bathroom has a white suite of bath, shower, basin and WC.

There is a Waitrose (high quality produce) supermarket just around the corner, and a Marks and Spencer Food Shop 5 minutes walk away. On Morningside Road there are superb cafes, excellent pubs, and lovely shops, mostly little privately owned ones. It also has one of the last privately owned cinemas in the UK, four screens and the latest movies.

The area is served by several buses, each of which runs frequently into the city centre the journey taking only 5 - 10 minutes. There is also a lovely walk through the "Meadows" and "Bruntsfield links" parks into the centre.

There is on-street parking at the apartment from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday at a rate of £1 per hour, parking is free outwith these hours and at week-ends. You can either leave your car with us at our B&B and we will drive you there, or just five minutes form the apartment there is ample free parking at any time in very good residential side streets.
