Bed and Breakfast kippen near Stirling

Gilliespie Hall Bed and Breakfast in the village of Kippen near Stirling, dates back to 1871 built as a church/village hall for the people of Kippen.  It was converted in 1995 to a family home and is now owned by John and Eileen Cowan . Having run for many years a successful guest house in Perth we now wish you a warm welcome to our unusual new home, in Kippen.

Kippen is a small conservation village 10 miles west of Stirling ideally located for the guest who does not wish to stay in a large town , but is comparatively close if one wishes to browse the shops or visit Stirling's historical sites.  Kippen is situated on the edge of The Queen Elizabeth National Park which includes many of the well known places of Scotland we all hear about . Within very easy reach are The Trossachs, Aberfoyle, Callandar and Loch Lomond. There are numerous forests for those who enjoy walking or just a short stroll in the woods. Stirling with its castle, Wallace monument and the site of the Battle of Bannockburn are only 15 mins away.  If you wish to travel a little further, Perth is less than an hour's drive, as is Glasgow or Edinburgh for more serious shopping or sight seeing.

Kippen itself has many local walks around the village which open up beautiful views of the surrounding hills.  There are two local pubs - both serve evening meals - within 2 minutes walk of the house, or you can take the car and travel a few miles in the surrounding area to find more eating places in other villages.

Our rooms are comfortable with tea/coffee trays & hairdryers provided.  Enjoy the spaciousness of the rest of the house to make it feel like your home.  Lie in bed at night and watch the sun setting over Ben Lomond, The Arrocher Alps, Ben Ledi , and the surrounding panorama of hills , waken to the rising sun glinting on the tops of same mountains in the morning - its beautiful!  Before you set off in the morning, Eileen will provide you with a delicious breakfast to set you up for the day , for all the walking and sight seeing you are going to do.  Eileen John and Fingal (our friendly Golden Retriever) look forward to welcoming you to Gillespie Hall.
