A choice of 3 secluded self catering cottages in Aberdeenshire set in an attractive 1000 acre country estate, yet only 2 - 3 miles from the pleasant market town of Turriff. The Estate lies 35 miles north of Aberdeen in peaceful rolling farmlands. Central to explore the Grampians, Royal Deeside, castle country and unspoiled fishing villages on the Moray and Buchan coast.

Set in naturally beautiful surroundings, Forglen Estate offers the slower,gentler pace of North East Scottish country life... a perfect change from today’s hectic life style. Forglen Estate is in the heart of Scotland’s Castle country and close to several of Scotland’s best golf courses. A spectacular coastline, wonderful distilleries and excellent fishing is all within close reach. A wonderful base for your holiday in this rich area of Scotland.

These cottages are all individual with their own secluded private gardens, nestled within this country estate they are well appointed and fully fitted for comfort.

Rates include bed linen; logs for open fires, heating and electricity. Ample parking provided.

Forglen Lodge - 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 - a historic holiday cottage, warm and cosy, set in the magnificent grounds of Forglen Estate, one of the most beautiful country estate in north east Scotland. Newly renovated inside, The Lodge is a premier self catering cottage. At one time the residence of the Estate gatekeeper, it has been newly renovated and upgraded to be the premier cottage on Forglen. The ground floor has a spacious sitting room with an open fire. Also included on the ground floor is a bathroom with shower and a double bedroom. A large kitchen with dinning area including all amenities. (Dishwasher, washing machine etc). Tartan hall way leads to the first floor that has a double bedroom, twin bedroom and toilet.

Smiddy Cottage - 4 bedrooms, sleeping 8 - extended former blacksmith’s cottage, Smiddy cottage is set in its own extensive grounds with a stream running through into a series of small ponds. A very bright, spacious and comfortable living/dining room with a real log fire is the centerpiece of the cottage.

On the ground floor there is also two large twin bedrooms, and separate toilet and shower area. The upper floor has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, as well as a family bathroom. Good size kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and fridge.

Ivy Cottage - 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 - short Break: Minimum 3 nights (subject to availability). Bed linen, kitchen towels and cleaning materials provided. 2 to 3 miles from Turriff shops, entertainment, parks, post offices, restaurants, bars and bus services. Sunday morning shopping.

Free Brown Trout fishing mid May to early October by arrangement depending on availability. Includes Vat, Firewood and Electricity. Sleeps: 6 1 Double 2 Twin

Forglen Estate is easily accessible being only a 45 minute drive from Aberdeen International Airport. There is local golf, swimming and horse riding. The estate offers free brown trout fishing (with fly only) on two short stretches of the river Deveron which forms 3 miles of our boundary. The whole river can be fished in spring from mid February to mid May at very reasonable rates when staying in our cottages. Our working farm is mainly in cereals. A small Highland Cattle herd is kept in the mansion house park.
