Self Catering Holiday Cottage Lewis
A traditional croft house sleeping 7
![]()
The name Clach Na Cuthaig is Gaelic for The Cuckoo's Stone. Cuckoo's are regular visitors to the rocky outcrop overlooking the cottage. If you visit during the Spring or Summer, you will be unlucky not to hear and see at least one of these intriguing birds. A former croft house, located in the village of Gravir on the east coast of the Isle Of Lewis, the cottage is ideally situated to make the most of the spectacular scenery and natural harbour of Loch Odhairn. A pleasant 5 minute stroll takes you to the jetty, which has on occasion welcomed Royal visitors. The cottage is only 45 minutes from Luskentyre Beach in Harris.
As you would expect the accommodation is of a very high standard throughout:
Ground floor: a spacious south facing lounge with open fire (there is also an electric fire) & Sky TV, a modern fitted kitchen/diner with single oven electric cooker in a newly refurbished kitchen, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom (2 x single beds), shower room and entrance porch. First floor: a further two bedrooms and a large landing. One of the first floor bedrooms is reserved for storage, the other much larger family room has both a double and a single bed.
Clach Na Cuthaig comes equipped with a TV, microwave, washing machine/tumble drier, fridge, deepfreeze, storage heaters, telephone, and double glazing. The cottage has it's own driveway and garden.
The village has it's own post office and doctors surgery and the Ravenspoint visitor centre in the nearby village of Kershader has a shop with basic groceries. Stornoway, the main town on the island, has 2 large supermarkets and a variety of smaller shops selling local produce.
