Hotels in Newtonmore

The  Craigerne Hotel, Newtonmore is a privately owned detached Victorian villa with delightful mature gardens commanding magnificent views of the Monadhliath and Cairngorm mountains and Spey valley.

Only 100 yards from the centre of the village of Newtonmore and being only 20 yards from the first tee of Newtonmore Golf Club, a hidden Highland gem of a course, the hotel obviously appeals to the golfer. The hotel is also an ideal base for ski-ing, 20mins from the Cairngorms, Walking, Climbing, Fishing, Horse-riding Bowling, Tennis, Cycling, Bird-watching, etc. There are Distilleries and Castles which provide a focus for a days touring along uncrowded roads. There is ample private parking within the grounds. Golf Trollies, cycles, skis etc, may be left in the garage and a drying room, very rarely used, is available for overclothes, skiwear etc.

We have 11 comfortably furnished bedrooms, most are twins (2 single beds) but we also have doubles, including a four-poster, and a unique family room which gives you the whole top floor, a twin bedroom, a single, a lounge with double sofa bed and bathroom and WC.

You can relax in the comfort of our sitting room with open fire, taste our wonderful Scottish ales or sample our fine selection of Malt Whiskies. We have two dining rooms, our main restaurant is a must for lovers of excellent cuisine based on traditional Scottish with an international influence and using fresh local ingredients wherever possible.  All guests' requirements can be made in advance eg tee-times for golf, horse-riding or ski packages, fishing or shooting. We are also 2 minutes from the train station with direct links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and we would be only to happy to arrange to meet you on arrival.
