Bed and Breakfast in Lanarkshire

Set in the beautiful Lanarkshire countryside, Craigend Bed and Breakfast near Lanark offers the perfect peaceful retreat for those wanting to enjoy a picturesque location whilst being able to easily reach all Lanarkshire has to offer. We are just 3 miles off Junction 11 ( J12 travelling south) of M74 north of Abington.

All of our rooms have been recently decorated and feature all the facilities a modern traveller needs. All 3 rooms are large and spacious featuring 2 Superking and one Kingsize bed. The Eynsford can also be split to provide Twin Beds. Each bedroom has ensuite facilities (with Multi Jet showers, the Eynsford Room also has a full bath), flat screen Freeview TV, DVD Players, WIFI, Beverage making facilities, hairdryers, complimentary toiletries, extra blankets and pillows, ample wardrobe and drawer space. We can also make available an iron and ironing board, sewing kits, wellies, books, board games….or anything else you may have left behind! We even have a selection of wellies for those who find the pull of our beautiful surroundings too much!

We do not provide evening meals but are happy to recommend/book local restaurants in Lanark or Hamilton. Additionally we have access to local takeaways which are welcom to eat in our Dining Room.Breakfast is served in our breakfast room between 7.00am and 8.30am on weekdays and between 7:30am and 9:30am weekends. Weather permitting, afternoon tea is served on the decking overlooking the garden from June to September - home made scones with fresh local cream and a pot of tea/coffee! Craigend enjoys over an acre of garden with a huge pond and plenty of wild life. There is a large area of decking which is available to guests to use during the warmer days/evenings.

Although you need a car to reach us, Craigend is ideal for those wishing to visit Glasgow or Edinburgh but avoid the great problems of parking in the capital city. Edinburgh is only 60 minutes drive away and has a park and ride service available on the outskirts of the city. You can park for free and then take the bus to the centre of Edinburgh for £2 return. Trains run to Glasgow every 30 minutes from Larkhall Station, cost £3.70 and take half an hour. Alternatively you can use Lanark, Motherwell or Hamilton stations. Glasgow Airport is just over 45 mins away by car.

Dogs can be accommodated at Craigend by arrangement @ £5 per night. They must be kept on the lead at all times since this is sheep farming country. We have a 5½ acre field adjacent to the house and hope to have stabling to accommodate guest’s horses in the future. In the meantime we are able to offer use of the field to those travelling with horses that do not require stabling facilities. Please contact us to discuss if bringing horses.

Craigend is non-smoking, although guests may smoke in the grounds. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate children < 16 years of age.
